Pittsburgh Public Schools staff member tests positive for COVID-19

A Pittsburgh Langley staff member has tested positive for COVID-19, Pittsburgh Public Schools officials announced Friday afternoon.

District officials said they closed the school for grab-and-go lunches Wednesday after notification that the staff member was exposed to a presumptive positive case of COVID-19.

Mayor Bill Peduto says he is in self-quarantine after attending conference, posts video message

Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto shared a video message from his dining room on Twitter on Thursday evening. In the video, Peduto thanked citizens for social distancing and also thanked first responders for putting their lives on the line as the coronavirus continues to spread.

In the second video, Peduto said that he is currently in self-quarantine after being at a conference in Washington, D.C. where at least two of his colleagues had contracted COVID-19.
