What’s Good In Ya Hood for the weekend of April 4-6
Hey Pittsburgh! It’s Ki Ki Brown, Pretty Kitty On Ya Radio, here to tell you about a few virtual events happening in your area! Let’s find out what’s good in your hood:
Just an update, Operation Better Block will be celebrating this 50th Anniversary on July 24th instead of April 3rd (which would have been today). The board and staff at OBB appreciate your continued support for their annual gala and this landmark year celebration! Adhering to the local, state, and federal government standards during this pandemic, it was wise to reschedule the gala for July 24th! More details at OBBinc.org.
Mi Mi’s Kinder Connection will be egging houses for Easter! Not the way you think! The Saturday evening before Easter Sunday, Mi Mi’s Kinder Connection will be planting Easter eggs filled with candy and special treats in your yard for your kids to enjoy hunting Easter Sunday. Contact Mi Mi’s Kinder Connection on Facebook for more information!
The Veteran’s Leadership Program and Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank have linked up to host a military share food distribution event, Monday, April 13th from 12-5P at the VLP, located at 2934 Smallman Street downtown. I’m doing this now because slots will fill up fast! For more information, call 412 481 8200. The event will be held outdoors. Strict safety and social distancing practices will be enforced!
The Homewood/Hazelwood Food Pantry, Hope For All and the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host a food distribution event, Saturday, April 4th from 9:30A to 11:30A at the Hazelwood YMCA Food Pantry 134 East Elizabeth Street. On April 9th, they’ll be distributing food bundles at the Homewood YMCA, 7144 Bennett Street from 11A to 1P. If you’re over 65 or not feeling well, send someone as a proxy to pick up your food or wear a mask to protect others. Bring a bag or box for food pick up!
Covenant Church of Pittsburgh will be hosting a curbside communion service this Sunday at their church in East Hills from 9A to 12 noon. They’ll be hosting a Good Friday healing service as well. All curbside! Contact the church office for more information. Call 412-731-6221.
Finally, Petra International Ministries will be hosting a virtual Young Adult Bible Study every Wednesday at 6:45P. If you consider yourself a young adult, contact Cam Clay online at CClay10@iCloud.com for more information.
