Find out what community events are happening in your hood this weekend!
Hey Pittsburgh! It’s Ki Ki Brown, Pretty Kitty On Ya Radio, here to tell you about a few virtual events happening in your area! Let’s find out what’s good in your hood:
Have you ever heard of an Art All Night event? Starting Saturday at 4 PM, there will be an online Art All Night experience for art lovers and those who aren’t quite sold on hitting the streets just yet.
The Art All Night is going to be a 22-hour long interactive, online experience.
- Website “doors” open at 4 PM on Saturday (closing at 2 PM Sunday)
- Panels or buttons to navigate you to the submitted art pieces will be available
- Bids are still an option
Join Kathy and Russel Bynum along with the “Line Dance King” Roland Ford for a virtual 5K Walk for Haiti. This virtual fundraiser happens Saturday morning (9:30 AM) and you can walk anywhere (living room, in the park) as long as you register online and donate $25 to help support the most vulnerable citizens who do not have a safety net during the pandemic. Make sure you use the hashtag #WalkForHaiti.
The VEEM TEAM is back with another voter empowerment event! This time, VEEM Pittsburgh (Voter Empowerment Education and Enrichment Movement) will host a series of Meet The Candidates events for the community to come out and engage in thought provoking dialogue with the candidates who are running for Auditor General, State Senator, US Congress, and State Representative.
These events are virtual and will be shared on VEEEM Pittsburgh’s Facebook page. For more information, cal 412 465 0551 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Center for Women Pittsburgh is hosting an expungement clinic w/ the Neighborhood Legal Services Association!
This virtual event is meant for those who are looking to move forward in life and not have their past criminal record hold them back.
You are encouraged to sign up at least ONE HOUR before the event to be properly registered. You will then receive a link to the ZOOM ROOM via email 30 minutes before the workshop begins.
If you’re hosting, or know someone who is, an free/community/fundraiser/non profit event, and would like it to be featured on What’s Good In Ya Hood, email kiki@TheBeatPgh.com!
